James (Jamie) Dimon is CEO of arguably Wall Street's most successful investment bank in the post credit crisis period, and has presided over the investment bank's most successful year and the integration of Bear Stearns in the 2008-2009 period. To the accompaniment of some surprise, at the end of September 2009, he installed veteran JPMorgan banker Jes Staley as likely heir apparent at the investment bank while at the same time stating that he (at age 53) hoped to stay at the helm for the next five years. Staley (also 53 at the time) has been at JPMorgan since 1979.
