78 Elizabeth Warren
Chair - Congressional Oversight Panel On TARP

Elizabeth Warren is the Leo Gottlieb Professor of Law at Harvard Law School. In the wake of the 2008-9 financial crisis, Warren became the chair of the Congressional Oversight Panel created to investigate the U.S. banking bailout (formally known as the Troubled Assets Relief Program).

She is being suggested as the head of the mooted Consumer protection panel envisaged as part of the new Dodd-Frank Act. She has compared variable rate mortgages to 'defective toasters', a sentiment that is likely to enhance prospects for her appointment.
