Senior Advisor, Ex Chairman - Morgan Stanley

Sir David Alan Walker is a senior advisor to Morgan Stanley International, where he was once its chairman from 1995 to 2001, and then again from 2004 to 2005.

On July 16 2009, Walker published a report entitled, 'A review of corporate governance in UK banks and other financial industry entities.' The report was requested by U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown in February 2009, in order to provide an independent review and examination of corporate governance in the U.K. banking industry. He has previously held the positions of Assistant Secretary at the Treasury, (1974-77), chairman of the Securities and Investments Board (1988-92), Executive Director for finance and industry at the Bank of England (1989-95), and Deputy Chairman of Lloyds TSB (1992-94). In 1994 Walker also joined the financial advisory body, the Group of Thirty.

In 2007 Walker was commissioned by the UK private equity industry to produce guidelines for disclosure and transparency in private equity.
