A letter from the Publisher
Dear Reader,
It is a time of opportunity for financial centres for we are entering a profound period of evolution in finance – and the winners will be those who learn the lessons of the present time the fastest.
The new periodical Financial Centres International is being launched to provide a forum for those who wish to stay at the forefront of the major issues affecting all financial centres as they happen, month by month, starting with the first edition. We would like to offer you the opportunity of subscribing as a Foundation Subscriber.
The basis for successful financial services recovery is already being laid - examples of how include:
• The move towards implementation of an international systemic risk oversight network amongst financial centres
• A realisation that new remuneration models will have to apply throughout financial services
• The building of new business models that, among other benefits, will limit moral hazard oversight of financial enterprises in each finance centre
• It is not often that new publications are launched, or indeed warranted, but there are times when the gain is greatest. That time is now, because never before has there been a need for a global exposition of all that is good and necessary for healthy and thriving financial centres to form the bedrock for recovery.
FCI will publish without favour, with no national agendas for any particular centre, and while we will adopt a commitment to the above principles, we shall provide fair and balanced analysis, with the highest editorial standards.
Yours sincerely,
Ken O’Brien, Publisher
