The Charter of Financial Centres International
FCI will be a storehouse of unique knowledge and information, unpublished elsewhere. It furthermore will be a publication with a perspective. We have published a Charter for FCI (below):
Our aim shall be to promote reform and development in a practical way of financial centres through the promotion of excellence in business conditions operating with due regard for market principles and the risks of 'moral hazard'
Promotion of world trade – against protectionism in financial services
For the promotion of fair international tax and regulatory competition
For promotion of better oversight, that recognises that there should be no conflict of interest between the consumer, the financial services entrepreneur, Government and the broad international community
For harmonious international relations, and the respect for the sovereignty of jurisdictions and national and cultural traditions, while recognising that the rights of sovereignty are not absolute, and that the world is a commonwealth
Against criminality, and the use of financial centres for criminal purposes and tax evasion
Promotion of excellence in financial services through the development of clusters of leading financial services expertise in specialist centres
Respect for the rights of individuals to freedom and privacy in their financial affairs, subject to legitimate legal obligations
