205 Stephen Green
Chairman - HSBC Holdings plc

Stephen Green has been chairman of HSBC chairman since 2006, but has agreed to take up the role of Trade Minister in the UK Government. Before that he spent three years as chief executive of HSBC. Green has been one of the foremost 'thought leaders' on the financial crisis, media observers often being wont to refer to his status as an ordained Anglican priest in quoting him on issues of post-credit-crisis-morality in the financial services industry.

He spent six years at the Ministry of Overseas Development, he then moved to management consultancy McKinsey before being headhunted by HSBC.

Some of his other directorships include The Bank of Bermuda Limited, HSBC Mexico, SA and The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited. He is also Chairman of HSBC Private Banking Holdings (Suisse) SA and HSBC North America Holdings Inc., Deputy Chairman of HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt AG and is a board member of HSBC France.
