498 Nuhu Ribadu
Former Chairman - Economic & Financial Crimes Commission, Nigeria

Now in self imposed exile the former head of the body established by Nigeria in 2003 to fight financial corruption and crime on foot of FATF recommendations is in self imposed exile, and has mooted his intention to stand for election when present Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan's term expires early in 2011. Since the EFCC was established Nigeria's rating in the TI International Index of Corruption Perceptions has improved markedly, from an admittedly low score of 1.4 in 2003 to 2.5 in 2009, but which is still below the 5 score that TI defines as an uncorrupt country (which unfortunately still includes the majority of the countries ranked).
