Since the EFCC was established Nigeria's rating in the TI International Index of Corruption Perceptions has improved markedly, from an admittedly low score of 1.4 in 2003 to 2.5 in 2009, but which is still below the 5 score that TI defines as an uncorrupt country (which unfortunately still includes the majority of the countries ranked).
