Maria Helena Santana is the chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), the financial regulatory authority of the government of Brazil. It regulates the capital markets in Brazil and all its participants. This includes stock exchanges, public companies, financial intermediaries and investors. It is an independent agency linked to the Ministry of Finance (Brazil).
