191 Lawrence Henry Summers
Director - The National Economic Council USA (NEC)

A professional economist, Summers served in the Clinton administration and was previously the Chief Economist of the World Bank. His Democratic critics believe him to be too close to Wall Street. However, amidst speculation about his ability to work with close advisors, (two have left in the course of 2010 - Paul Orszag, and, in early August 2010, Christina Romer) the most likely explanation is concern on the part of the departing economic advisors about being linked to the legacy of debt being incurred by the Obama administration.
