Chairman - Finance Malta

Kenneth Farrugia is Chief Officer at Bank of Valletta and currently sits on the Group's Executive Board. He is also FinanceMalta Chairman

For two years up until January 2009, Farrugia also served as Chairman of Malta's Financial Services Consultative Council, whose members are associations and representative bodies in the financial services industry that represent licence holders that are licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority and that fall under the MFSA's direct area of supervision. Farrugia is also the Chairman of the Malta Fund Industry Association which represents the fund management and fund servicing operators set up in Malta and Vice Chairman on the Board of Governors of FinanceMalta, an alliance between Government and the Financial Services Industry vested with the remit to promote Malta as a financial services centre.

He joined Bank of Valletta Group in October 1985, and in 1994 was appointed to a management position following his role within a project team to set-up Valletta Fund Management Limited, the fund management arm of the Bank of Valletta Group. In 1999, he was appointed as Assistant General Manager of the Company and then General Manager in December 2004. In October 2006, he was appointed as a Director on the Board of Directors of Valletta Fund Management and General Manager of Valletta Fund Services Limited.
